The defender signed on Trentside in July 2025 from Women’s Super League side West Ham, having previously represented Hibernian.

In 2018, Smith made the switch to Manchester United for their inaugural season in the Women’s Championship, securing the league title and promotion before moving to West Ham United in 2022.

Smith made her international debut in 2014 and has since represented Scotland more than 60 caps including appearances in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
