Nottingham Forest can confirm that £18,500 has been raised through the sale of the collaborative t-shirts with the NHS.
The initial batch of 500 t-shirts sold out within hours of going on sale, which led to the club placing a further order due to such high demand. First-team players such as Matty Cash, Joe Lolley, John Bostock, Brice Samba, Samba Sow, Joe Worrall and Joao Carvalho helped to launch the t-shirt, which pays tribute to the local NHS during the current coronavirus pandemic.
Louise Knight, Head of Fundraising at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Nottingham Forest FC for backing our ‘Help your Hospital Heroes’ appeal, and especially to the club’s fantastic fans who have come out in force to buy their shirts and show their support for our NHS heroes in Nottingham.
“The money raised by the club and its supporters will be used to continue to provide wellbeing support for NHS staff at Nottingham’s hospitals, including wellbeing centres and rest rooms to give them time and space away from the busy ward environment during this challenging time. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible.”
