Match preview: Middlesbrough vs Forest in association with Football Index

1 March 2020

Check out all you need to know ahead of Nottingham Forest's trip to Middlesbrough in the match preview, in association with Football Index.

Nottingham Forest will be looking to make it back-to-back away wins when they travel to Middlesbrough on Monday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Reds picked up a fine 1-0 win at Cardiff in midweek and a similar result will ensure they keep the pressure on the teams around them in the Championship table.

Middlesbrough have endured a tough season, finding themselves at the wrong end of the table and are currently winless in nine league games, a run that boss Jonathan Woodgate will be hoping to end in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

From the opposition

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate says positivity is the key as he looks to steer his side away from relegation trouble.

He said: "Everything is possible, but I don't envisage us going down. I envisage 11 games to go, 11 big games and I see us not going down. I see us climbing the table with victories.

"We need to be positive and grind out results, get results and that is the biggest thing at the moment, can we get the wins.

"Forest have done really well, from a solid base they have done fantastically well. We drew 1-1 down there, which I thought was a fair result. They deserve to be up there and challenging for promotion this season.

"It will be similar to Leeds, but they don't play with the same intensity. Forest normally sit in and let you have possession of the ball, so it will be a different test."
