Match preview: Forest vs Swansea in association with Football Index

15 July 2020

Check out all you need to know ahead of Nottingham Forest's match against Swansea City in the match preview, in association with Football Index.

Nottingham Forest could secure a play-off spot with victory against Swansea City at The City Ground on Wednesday night (kick-off 6pm).

The Reds will be looking to complete a league double over The Swans after their triumph in South Wales back in September, while also looking to continue their run after the restart with just one defeat in six games so far.

Swansea need a victory to keep their play-off aspirations alive, coming into tonight's game in eighth place and hoping to keep pace with their rivals Cardiff City who occupy the final play-off berth.

Team news

Sabri Lamouchi has confirmed that Matty Cash and Joe Lolley remain doubts for the clash with Swansea after missing the draw with Preston on the weekend.

From the opposition

Swansea manager Steve Cooper said his side must be ready to bounce back from defeat against Leeds when they face Nottingham Forest at The City Ground.

He said: “The defeat hurt because we deserved more, but it cannot get in the way of our preparation for Nottingham Forest. There is no feeling sorry for ourselves, we have to get ready.

“We have to beat these sides who are in and around us, and Forest away is about as tough as it gets.

“But if we want to achieve things you have to be successful and win games like this.

“It’s such an important time, but in the end we have to look after ourselves and not wait for others to give us a chance.

“There is a lot we can take into the game on the back of a good performance against Leeds.

“We have to go into every game committed to the plans we have to win and, if we get it right, we will give ourselves every chance.

“We have to believe in what we do and give 100 per cent, and we will do that.”
