Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Anigo as the club’s Head of International Recruitment.
Anigo joins the club with an extensive background of success in European football, playing a pivotal part in the success of Olympique de Marseille since 2002.
The Frenchman began his career as the director of the academy at the French giants, overseeing the development of future stars such as Samir Nasri, Seydou Keita, Matthieu Flamini and Andre and Jordan Ayew before stepping up to coach the first team.
He led Marseille to the final of the UEFA Cup in 2004, coaching big names such as Didier Drogba, Fabien Barthez and Steve Marlet and leading them to a seventh-placed finish in the league.
Then as General Manager, Anigo oversaw one league title, three French cups and five qualifications for the Champions League and four for the UEFA Cup, helping to recruit players such as Drogba, Franck Ribery, Matthieu Valbuena and Hatem Ben Arfa.
Anigo has also been the head coach of Esperance Tunis in Tunisia and Levadiakos and Panionios in Greece and now joins Nottingham Forest to oversee the club’s international recruitment.
