Nottingham Forest Women are delighted to announce the signing of striker Rosie Axten from Derby County Women.
Axten makes the short trip along the A52 to don the Garibaldi this season as she becomes Andy Cook’s ninth summer signing.
The 22-year-old brings a wealth of goal scoring experience to the side as she has been a proven goal scorer over recent seasons.
Axten got her taste of FA Women’s Championship football with Leicester during the 2018-19 season and was nominated for league player of the month during October after only two months of playing at that level.
Axten then moved on to fellow FA Women’s Championship side Coventry United Women, the following season, before making the move to Derby County last February.
But now she’s a Red and will be hoping to hit the ground running when Forest begin their 2020-21 league campaign this Sunday away to West Bromwich Albion Women.
Axten shared her delight at becoming a Red as she reflected on joining the club.
She said: “I am delighted to sign for Nottingham Forest and I want to help them get to where they deserve by getting promotion. The club has an amazing set up, and the atmosphere is unreal.
“I have already seen how professional the club is, which is something I knew I wanted to be a part of, the minute I spoke to Andy Cook. I can’t wait to get this season started with this very ambitious club."
