Nottingham Forest Women are delighted to announce the signing of Charlotte Greengrass from FA Women’s Super League side Aston Villa.
The 20-year-old is The Reds’ sixth summer signing as she strengthens the squad ahead of the upcoming 2020-21 FA Women’s National League North season.
Greengrass, who can operate along the back four as well in midfield, brings league-winning experience to the Forest side as she enjoyed a successful season on the other side of the Midlands during the last campaign. She donned the claret and blue during the 2019-20 season as her and the rest of the Villa side were announced Championship winners after the season came to a sudden halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Before that, Greengrass spent 10 years with Leicester City, a club she joined at nine-years-old. She progressed through the team’s youth ranks and went on to play for the first-team.
Greengrass has also represented the national team as she has played for England at several youth levels. She has pulled on the Three Lions shirt at under-16s, under-18s and under-19s level.
On signing for the club, Greengrass said: “I’m really pleased to have signed for Forest. The moment I spoke to Andy Cook, I knew it was the right club for me. The professionalism and ambitions of the club are clear and I wanted to be a part of that.
"Andy, the staff and all the girls know exactly where this club can get to and that’s incredibly exciting. Everyone has made me feel so welcome and having been with the girls for a few weeks now I’m just buzzing for the season to start and to get the club where it deserves to be.”
