Nottingham Forest travel to take on Stoke City on Sunday afternoon as The Reds look to make it three wins in eight days.
Forest have enjoyed wins over Derby County and Sheffield FC since last Sunday as the side have soared up the league table where they are currently tied in first place with West Bromwich Albion and Fylde on points but sit in second on goal difference.
The side’s most recent win came on Thursday evening as Forest brushed aside Sheffield FC underneath the Eastwood floodlights. Summer signings Lucy Johnson, Hayley James and Rachel Brown all got off the mark for the club as they pitched in with three of The Reds’ goals. Rosie Axten continued her fine form in the Garibaldi as she also etched her name on the scoresheet with a sweet finish. The visitors stole a goal back with eight minutes to go but Forest fought off any last-minute pressure to bag all three points.
Sunday afternoon’s opponents currently sit six places below The Reds as they have picked up four points in their opening three games. Stoke most recently suffered a defeat at the hands of Derby County last Thursday evening in a match that ended 3-1. The Potters found themselves three goals behind to The Ewe Rams on the hour mark - Amy Hughes did steel a goal back for the side but it wasn’t enough as they were left empty handed at the final whistle.
The West Midlands outfit have found the back of the net four times in three games with all four goals coming from four different players this season, so far. The side will be hoping to add more to their overall tally tomorrow as they look to pull themselves into the top half of the league table.
Rosie Axten has proven to be a force in the Forest attack this season as she has picked up two assists and two goals in three games. The striker leads the way with the most goal involvements for the The Reds this season with an impressive total of four and Axten will be eager to add more tomorrow.
