As the latest part of the club's continuing development, Nottingham Forest Women have entered into an exclusive partnership with local channel Notts TV.
The local broadcast channel, which launched in 2014, has made the move to help raise the profile of the women's game with exclusive content in the build-up to matches, and full coverage of some games, starting with a delayed broadcast of the Forest vs Derby County fixture in February. They will also include updates in their sports bulletins (Ey Up Notts) and on Team Talk, supported with exclusive interviews with players and coaches.
Nottingham Forest Women's general manager Lee Billiard is delighted with the partnership and believes with the support of the local broadcasters, the people of Nottingham will become more familiar with the women's set up and the partnership will encourage people of all ages to come and support the team as well as increase levels of participation.
He said: "We have seen a steady increase in supporters coming to watch our matches which is fantastic, it shows that the profile of the women's team is growing. With the help of Notts TV we believe that this exposure and coverage can only benefit us in our aim to not only raise our profile but also the profile of women's football in general.
"The more people that get used to hearing and watching about the women's game the better. It will hopefully lead to greater levels of participation but also just raise the general interest in Nottingham Forest Women."
Nicci Ryan, Notts TV’s head of partnerships and commercial, said: “This is a big season for Nottingham Forest Women on and off the pitch. The side is a part of the Forest family which is clearly going places fast, and we’re really pleased to be able to give viewers access to some of the amazing stories and match action that lies ahead.
“We’ll be profiling players and staff, boosting coverage in our sport bulletins and other programmes and sharing updates on social media. Covering the Forest vs Derby fixture is also something we’re all really excited about and it will hopefully provide a platform to expand our commitment further.”
