Nottingham Forest welcome league leaders Sunderland to Eastwood CFC on Sunday afternoon as the side look to make it four wins on the bounce.
The Reds come into the game in fine form as three wins on the bounce has seen them rise in the league standings. They most recently picked up an impressive 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town, who at the time sat second in the table, to continue their good run. Precious Hamilton safely tucked away two penalty kicks to wrap up all three points for her side on a damp day in Nottingham.
Sunderland head into the fixture unbeaten in the league, so far, as they have picked up four wins and a draw. They most recently brushed aside Burnley in a 2-0 victory as Jessica Brown and Maria Farrugia all etched their names on the scoresheet.
The North East side have only conceded four goals across five league games this season as they have formed a solid back four. But they have the task of taming Hamilton on Sunday afternoon as she sits joint top of the goal scoring charts with 10 goals across all competitions. Hamilton has scored in every one of The Reds’ fixtures this season and will be searching to add to her growing tally on Sunday.
Sunderland have their own star striker in their ranks as Bridget Galloway has also been amongst the goals this season. With eight to her name across all competitions this season Galloway will prove to be a nuisance for The Reds on Sunday. But she has the task of breaking down the Forest defence who have produced terrific and strong displays in their previous three games. The back four and ‘keeper, Aja Aguirre, have only conceded one goal in their last three games, with two of the matches coming against sides placed higher than them in the league standings. They successfully shut out both Sheffield FC and Derby County and only allowed high scoring Huddersfield Town the one last Sunday.
