Nottingham Forest will aim to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday as the face up to high flying Sunderland at home.
The Reds have suffered two league losses on the bounce the past two Sundays, most recently losing out to Middlesbrough 2-1. It was a harsh result on the side who deserved a point from the tight game. Trina Greaves put the Reds ahead in the first half with a curling effort from just inside the area. But the away snatched all three points in the second half with goals from Leonie Hutchinson and Ellie Dobson within six minutes of each other to steal the win.
The Black Cats are currently in second place of the FA WNL with 32 points and have only suffered five league losses so far, this campaign. Their most recent loss was also their last game two weeks ago as they lost out 2-1 to Fylde. Fylde have also beat the North-East side two other times this season in both the Cup and the reverse league fixture. Forest have earned a hard fought 0-0 draw and a brilliant 1-0 win over the same Fylde side this season.
The Reds’ defence will be wary of Ramshaw on Sunday as the forwards has been in red hot form this season. Ramshaw has netted a whopping 17 goals across all competitions so far, this season with nine of her goals coming from three separate hat tricks. Galloway will also be aiming to add to her impressive tally on Sunday as she has also hit double figures this season with 14 goals across all competitions.
It is more than just a league game for the Reds at the weekend as it marks a new era as the side will have a new manager in the dugout. It’s a familiar face for the side though as it is Alena Moulton. Moulton has stepped up to role from her previous assistant manager role and explained earlier this week; “We will do our very best to pick up as many points as possible. I look forward to working with the team and continuing the fantastic journey”.
