Nottingham Forest return to league action for the first time in five weeks on Sunday afternoon as they travel to face Fylde.
The Reds head into the game looking to pull themselves closer to the league leaders as they also aim to end the year with nine wins on the bounce.
Forest’s most recent three fixtures have come in three different cup competitions where the side secured a maximum amount of victories. The Reds most recently stormed to a 3-0 win over Leeds United at Eastwood CFC last Sunday afternoon. Laura Dexter netted late in the first-half to give the side the lead before a four minute brace from Precious Hamilton in the second-half proceedings secured the team’s win.
Fylde currently sit three places below Forest in the league standings as they occupy seventh position with 12 points. The side have endured a rocky first-half to the season as they have picked up three wins, held to three draws and condemned to two losses in the league.
The Coasters recent league fixture was abandoned due to serious injury suffered by an opposition player but their game before that ended in a victory for the side. Ashleigh Hayes and Georgia Stevens struck either side of the break and despite a late spark of a comeback from Loughborough Foxes the side held on to claim all three points.
Jodie Redgrave sits top of the side’s goalscoring charts with seven to her name across all completions so far, this season. The former Derby County forward has enjoyed a great start in her first season for the North West side and will be searching to continue that form on Sunday.
Forest have also been no strangers to goals this season as they have scored in every single one of their games so far, this campaign. They’ve found the back of the net a whopping 56 times with 22 of the goals coming in league games. The side’s goalscorers will be hoping to continue this feat on Sunday and end the year three months unbeaten.
