Having made the switch from Leicester City in September, Mai Moncaster was one of the latest to arrive at Nottingham Forest and the young midfielder has been reflecting on her first three months in the Garibaldi.
Moncaster said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Forest so far. Coming in just after pre-season was hard as I obviously missed valuable time with the team however everyone made that easier for me and I felt at ease as soon as I arrived.
"Being around the coaching staff and players made it very easy for me to settle as a Red. Everyone was so welcoming and comforting which allowed me to feel a part of the team straight away.”
Away from the field Moncaster also revealed what her favourite part of being a member of the team is.
She said: “Spending time with my team away from football is always a good laugh. Everyone is like one big family so when we get together, everyone is constantly laughing. The group chat is also on fire all the time which creates so many laughs, helping us all to bond and get to know each other more.”
Moncaster made her mark on the side with two impressive performances in as many Nottinghamshire County Cup games. She bagged herself a hat-trick in the side’s first cup game and then added another in the following quarter-final fixture and she was happy to contribute to the side.
She said: “I was absolutely buzzing to have bagged a few goals this year and I’m looking to take that into next year. Obviously, the wins were the most important thing so I am happy to have contributed to make sure that the wins were what we achieved.
“Eight games unbeaten is unbelievable and gives us great momentum for the New Year to carry on where we have left off. It shows how hard we have been working as a team in training etc. Now is a good opportunity for everyone to rest up ready to come back harder next year.”
