Nottingham Forest Women are delighted to announce the signing of England Under-21 international Rebecca Rayner.
The exciting attacking midfielder joins The Reds from FA Women’s Championship side Sheffield United Women.
Rayner will bolster the Forest attack for the upcoming FA Women’s National League season and despite her young age brings a wealth of domestic and international experience.
Rayner previously represented Doncaster Rovers Belles in the FA Women’s Super League and helped them lift the FA Women’s Super League 2 title in 2018.
The England youth international most recently donned the three lions back in March as she was called up for the La Manga under-23 tournament. Rayner has also previously represented England’s under-19 side at international level.
Rayner has already linked up with her new teammates as she has joined them during their pre-season campaign. She impressed in the side’s 6-0 win over Lincoln City Women on Sunday 28th July and most recently played in the friendly against Aston Villa Women. The midfielder made an instant impact on the side as she registered two assists and netted her own brilliant goal all inside the second half against Lincoln.
On signing with the club Rayner expressed her delighted to officially becoming a Red.
She said: “I am delighted to have signed for Nottingham Forest. I have been training with the girls for a couple of weeks now and the team and the management have welcomed me with open arms. I look forward to enjoying my football with this great club and can’t wait to get the season started.”
