One of the shining lights of the 2016-17 season, 22-year-old goalkeeper Jordan Smith impressed observers with a combination of confident performances and stunning saves.

Smith made his first-team debut for Forest at Norwich in February 2017 following Stephen Henderson's Achilles injury and the youngster never looked back as he made the number one shirt his own.

The academy graduate kept clean sheets against promotion-chasing Brighton and Huddersfield before two wonderful saves on the final day of the season helped Forest to a 3-0 win over Ipswich which confirmed their Sky Bet Championship status.

Smith spent the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Ilkeston and was instrumental as the club reached the Northern Premier League play-off final where they were eventually beaten by Curzon Ashton.

The shotstopper continued his development in 2015-16 as he enjoyed another successful season-long loan spell, this time at Conference North side Nuneaton, but unfortunately they fell agonisingly short of the play-offs by only a single point.

Former Forest head coach Philippe Montanier saw enough in the youngster to invite him to first-team training during the summer of 2016 and his confident displays since them have earned him rave reviews from the club's supporters.
