Striker Britt Assombalonga had an injury-hit 2016-17 season but he still managed to be the club's top scorer and help guide The Reds to Championship safety.

Assombalonga struck 14 times, including braces against Ipswich Town, home and away, Burton Albion, Rotherham and Reading to help fire Forest away from danger.

The striker signed for Forest after scoring 33 goals in 58 appearances for Peterborough United in 2013-14, signing a five-year-deal.

Following a memorable start to his Forest career which saw him score 15 goals in just 32 appearances, Assombalonga's debut season at The City Ground was cruelly ended by a knee injury sustained in February.

A graduate of Watford's academy, loan spells at Wealdstone, Braintree and Southend provided the forward with first-team experience before he made the permanent switch to Peterborough.

Assombalonga has been called up to represent Democratic Republic of Congo at international level, but is yet to make his bow for the African nation.
