Central defender Matt Mills made 30 appearances for Nottingham Forest during the 2016-17 season in a campaign which was interrupted by injury.
The 30-year-old arrived at The City Ground on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2015 and performed well during the 2015-16 season as he helped keep a number of clean sheets and scored five goals.
Mills started the 2016-17 campaign in strong fashion and found the net against Rotherham in September 2016 before a groin injury he sustained in January kept him out for three months.
After spending time with Southampton and Manchester City as a youngster, Mills has picked up considerable Football League experience with spells at Doncaster, Reading and Leicester.
