Central defender Jack Hobbs will be hoping to impress manager Mark Warburton during the pre-season schedule after only making 10 appearances in the 2016-17 campaign.

After enjoying an initial loan spell from Hull City in the first half of the 2013-14 season, Hobbs then signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at The City Ground in January 2014 and has since go on to make himself a popular player with Reds supporters.

The centre back impressed with his sturdy performances, captaining the side on occasion and scoring a memorable winner against Derby County on Trentside in September 2013.

Hobbs found himself out of favour in the first half of the 2016-17 season as former head coach Philippe Montanier chose not to select him but after the Frenchman's departure, caretaker manager Gary Brazil restored the defender to the starting line-up.

The 28-year-old made 10 outings for The Reds before a foot injury sustained in the 3-2 defeat at Fulham in February all but ended his campaign.
