Armand Traore

Date of birth

Nottingham Forest completed the signing of former Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers defender Armand Traore on 29th July 2016 and he made his debut in the 2-1 EFL Cup win at Doncaster Rovers on 9th August.

Having previously spent time with Monaco, Traore made the move to Arsenal in 2005 and made his debut for the Gunners in a Carling Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns a year later.

He gained a wealth of experience at the Emirates Stadium by playing against the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool before making a loan move to Portsmouth ahead of the 2008-09 campaign.

Traore's time at Fratton Park brought regular Premier League and UEFA Cup football and enjoyed a memorable moment towards the end of the season when he scored in Pompey's 3-1 win over Sunderland.

Another loan move followed as Traore enjoyed Serie A football with Juventus before he made a permanent switch to Queens Park Rangers at the beginning of the 2011-12 season.

He was a part of the Rangers side that secured Premier League survival on the final day of the campaign at Manchester City and although they were relegated the following year, he played a vital role in helping them bounce back at the first time of asking as they beat Derby County in the play-off final at Wembley.

The Senegalese defender put pen to paper on a three-year deal at The City Ground effective from 1st August and embarks on a new stage of his career on Trentside.
