Nottingham Forest rounded off the warm weather training camp in Portugal with a goalless draw against Estoril Praia, gaining more valuable minutes in the players’ legs with many members of the team playing a half each.

The Reds have spent the last 10 days in the Algarve preparing for the 2025/26 campaign, facing Fulham and the Portuguese side during the trip.

Now, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will return to England to continue the hard work at the Nigel Doughty Academy ahead of Saturday’s trip to Birmingham City.

Estoril created the first chance on the night when Matz Sels did well to keep out Tiago Parente’s header before Forest cleared the follow-up and resulting corner.

The Estoril forward fired wide inside our box just after the 10-minute mark before the Reds created a chance of our own when Ryan Yates drove forward and shot straight at Joel Robles in the Portuguese’s side’s goal.

The second half saw 11 changes for the Reds, giving the squad valuable minutes in the pre-season schedule.

Callum Hudson-Odoi tested Robles following a mazy run before Jimmy Sinclair brought another save out of the former Everton stopper.

Sinclair went close for a second time in stoppage time, winning the ball back well on the by line, before drilling his left-footed effort wide of goal.

Forest will return to home base ahead of Saturday’s trip to St Andrew’s with Birmingham City lying in wait, who kick-off their Championship campaign on Friday week.
