Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi is excited to get the Championship season underway as they travel to face QPR on Saturday.
The Reds kick-off the league campaign at Loftus Road and Lamouchi is eager to get started and to begin the gruelling season with three points.
He said: “I am happy to start, it is after just three weeks’ preparation but I am happy to start for my second season with Forest.
“It is very exciting, I remember last year against West Brom, the atmosphere and we played well. We didn’t deserve that result but it is very important to start in the right way in the league.
“QPR are a good footballing team, they produced many good performances and results last season and they will be the same.
“We know what kind of football they will play and we will be ready for that.”
With such a short pre-season, Lamouchi admitted that his team were not fully ready for the Carabao Cup tie at Barnsley last week but knows that all teams are in the same position and his side are fully focused on the clash with QPR.
He said: “We have some circumstances, we had many absences and players not ready but there are many clubs with this kind of problems.
“It is much better now and finally the league starts and the players are absolutely focused on Saturday.
“It is about the rhythm of games and we have to be, as a team, ready to play as we know to try and get our target and that is to get the victory. That was the case last week and unfortunately we didn’t play well enough, they deserved the victory and now it is another competition, the league starts and we will be ready to face a good team with good football.
“The difference between last season and this season is the game is away, without fans and we go there with big expectation.”
