Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates was pleased to get the victory but felt The Reds should have played better against Coventry.
Lyle Taylor’s injury-time penalty secured the three points but Yates knows there is plenty of room for improvement.
Speaking after the game, he said: “It is a massive three points but we need to be playing better than that, especially at home. A club like Nottingham Forest, we need to be dominating possession more.
“The lads did well in the first half and the second half wasn’t good enough, but it is the three points and we go onto the next one.
“We just seemed so flat and my instruction when I came on was to lift the tempo and get the energy back, as we had such good energy in the first half.
“Scott getting his first goal, you make that luck when you have that energy. But we have to be better, in possession and out of possession. When they had the ball, they seemed so dangerous in the second half. Other games, like the Blackburn game, without the ball we were controlling the game but I didn’t feel like that today.
“We need to kick on from here. We need look back at what we can do better as we have to improve upon tonight, but it is three points and the games are coming so fast. Wycombe at home now, it has to be a win.”
