Nottingham Forest's newest arrival, Gaetan Bong, hopes his previous promotion-winning experience with Brighton will stand him in good stead at The City Ground.
The 31-year-old helped The Seagulls reach the top-flight in 2016-17 and says he aims to use memories of that experience to his new club as The Reds chase promotion to the Premier League.
He said: "I needed a new challenge to be honest. I've been in Brighton for five years and had some amazing moments there but when I spoke to the people at Forest, they explained to me about the project they are trying to build and I am very excited to be a part of that.
"I think everything just matched between my personality and my ambitions and what the club want from me. I wanted to find a club where I could make a good connection with the fans and I think I've made a good choice by joining Nottingham Forest.
"The Championship season is so long with many games and you just have to stay focused on each game as it comes. The league is not easy because there are so many teams who want to make it to the Premier League but I just want to bring my experience to the club and try to help.
"I remember when I won promotion to the Premier League with Brighton, it was very tough. With the quality we have in this squad I think we can do it and I can't wait to be a part of it. Forest is a big club with a great history and I want to help them get back to the Premier League."
