New Nottingham Forest signing Adama Diakhaby is delighted to join The Reds as they look for a strong end to the season.

The forward has switched on a loan deal until the end of the season from fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town and is eager to help Forest kick on.

He said: “I feel very good and very confident, I am happy to sign for Nottingham Forest. The coach called me and I am very excited to show how I can play for this club and hopefully we can go up to the Premier League.

“The coach said that he wanted me to come and play for him, for this club. He told me about the team spirit in the dressing room, that it was very good and all of my teammates are focused and happy. That is the reason why I came.

“The club is in a good position in the Championship. It is a long time since playing in the Premier League. It is a club with a good history and I think, with the staff and players here, they have done a good job but we have to keep going. There is five months left, we have a lot of games so everything is possible.”

The 23-year-old joins the club having experience of Premier League football, as well as in the French top flight and the Champions League, experience he feels can stand him in good stead for his loan spell.

He said: “I am very excited to play my first game here. I have not played for a little while but I just want to play, do my job and I am looking forward. I think it will be fun here.

“I know that I have good experience, for a lot of player that is good but I do not look at the past, I always look forward. I try to work hard, do my job and play with my qualities.

“I am still young, 23, so maybe I have some experience but I have to prove day after day, game after game.

“I like to dribble with the ball, use my speed, my left foot and to make the difference. I always want to go forward and score goals or give assists. I like good football.”
