Nottingham Forest to donate 10,000 meals to NHS Staff

20 April 2020

Working alongside local charity Open Kitchens, Nottingham Forest have pledged to donate 10,000 meals to local NHS staff.

During these unprecedented times, the club’s chefs have volunteered to cook and prepare the meals at The City Ground which will then be collected by the charity and distributed to the staff at the NHS.

At a rate of 2,000 meals per week, NFFC are committed to helping those in need and through the newly-formed charity Open Kitchens, the club can directly help those on the frontline in the hospitals who are risking their lives every day.

Open Kitchens is a national food solution that brings together restaurants and their communities to produce and deliver free meals to those in need. Adam Roberts, founder and CEO of Open Kitchens, said:

"We’re delighted that Forest are producing 10,000 meals for NHS workers in Nottingham over the next five weeks through the Open Kitchens initiative. It’s an incredible gesture from a legendary club that will go a long way to getting nutrient-rich and tasty meals to our frontline workers. Not only do these guys deserve good food, we hope it will give them a timely boost and remind them that we are here for them, just as they are here for us."
