With the football season on hold Nottingham Forest have fielded a championship idea and created a ‘NHS special edition’ t-shirt, sales of which will go to the Nottingham NHS Heroes appeal.
There has been an amazing response, with the initial batch of special edition t-shirts selling, but new stock is now available to pre-order here. All of the income from sales going to the appeal.
The Nottingham NHS Heroes appeal is raising funds to deliver vital support to Nottingham’s NHS workers on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus, providing wellbeing assistance and support to them at QMC and City hospitals.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity is leading the appeal and their Chief Executive, Barbara Cathcart, said: “We cannot thank Nottingham Forest enough for their support for our appeal. We have been very moved by the club’s offer to help the NHS in whatever way they can and think it is fantastic that Forest’s fans across the city will soon be walking around with football shirts supporting their local NHS!”
After just two weeks the appeal has already reached £58,500 of its £100,000 target and funds are already being deployed. Nottingham Hospitals Charity has already provided essentials kits, treats, energy snacks and refreshments to keep NHS staff going during hectic periods. In addition two new kitted out Wellbeing Centres have just been funded at City Hospital and QMC where staff can get respite and relax during breaks from their hectic and demanding work.
Further support areas for NHS staff have already been identified as additional funds come in.
