Nottingham Forest midfielder Brennan Johnson is looking forward to testing himself against Premier League opposition in the shape of Arsenal.
The youngster has already had a taste of cup action this season and is eager for more when The Reds visit the Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup.
He said: “It is unbelievable. When we got the draw, I was excited having played in the last round. Then seeing how big it is to the fans and seeing how many are travelling, it should be a good night.
“The amount of fans travelling shows how big the club is and how desperate we are to have more nights like this at big grounds. It is unbelievable support and it should be good.
“I will find out later today if I am going to be involved. Hopefully I can be involved in some way and get out on the pitch.
“We know how good Arsenal are and how much quality they have even in their second team if you can call it that. We just have to approach it as a tough game, no matter who we play against so we have to be ready for whatever comes at us.”
Johnson signed a new long-term contract with the club earlier today, a deal he was delighted to sign having been at the club since the age of eight.
“I am really happy and now that hard work can continue,” he said. “It means a lot to me, being from Nottingham, Forest is all I have known so being part of the first team is something I have always wanted. Now, I am a bit closer I can keep pushing on.
“This season has been unbelievable for me. First-team football is a different level from the academy; you don’t really realise how big the club is until you are with the first team, seeing how good the fans are and just being involved so it has been unbelievable.”
