Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi said his side are ready to go again after the international break as they prepare to face Wigan Athletic.

The Reds went into the two-week break sitting in second place in the table and Lamouchi feels the rest was good but they are chomping at the bit to get going again.

He said: “It was a good rest for everyone, they deserved this because it was logical to do that. They came back with the right mentality and the way we are working this week is good, so we are back again and ready for a tough game on Sunday.

“We have been working hard with good sessions and we must put them under pressure immediately. Sunday at 2pm, they will put pressure on us and it will be a tough game for us; my players know that. Physically they are strong, they have two fast wingers and good players.”

Lamouchi has a few injury concerns but knows that the strength of his squad means he still has options to choose from for the trip to the DW Stadium on Sunday.

He said: “Samba Sow and Alfa Semedo, they need more days and more weeks maybe to work with the medical department.

“I hope they won’t be out for too long. Alfa will be back very soon, and I hope so because he is an important player for us with huge potential. Samba has a different injury, so he needs more time.

“It creates opportunities for others, with John Bostock, Tiago Silva and Ryan Yates. They are different players but it is good to have many options.

“Dawson has started to run on the pitch, so he will be back soon. He is close to the players and is a good captain. He will train this weekend and then he will be close to returning next week for Hull and Reading.”
