Ryan Yates returned to action for Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night as his comeback from injury was complete.
The midfielder came off the bench for the final 30 minutes against Hull City and he was delighted that all of his hard work in recovery has paid off.
He said: “It was amazing for me to be back out there. I have worked really hard. I have had 12 weeks on the sidelines and to get back out there for 30 minutes is all I could have asked for.
“It has been frustrating for me, I had hardly kicked a ball then had my surgery and it was rehab from then on. A lot of hard work has gone in behind the scenes from all the staff trying to get me back out on the pitch and it finally happened.
“It felt good to get that reception from the fans for my comeback. Just in general, when they are behind the lads and to get that reception is brilliant. But to have them give me a big cheer like that when I came on makes you feel great and it makes all of the hard work worth it.
“We were really disappointed with the result on Wednesday but the good thing about football is that there is another game just around the corner, especially in the Championship. There are so many games so we need to put it right for ourselves and for all of the supporters who came to watch us.”
