Nottingham Forest Under 23s were beaten 3-1 at Southampton on Saturday in their second Premier League Cup group-stage game.
Forest fell behind on 18 minutes as Kornelius Hansen's strong run ended with a fine finish into the bottom corner of Marios Siampanis's net.
The Reds responded well to falling behind and levelled ten minutes later when Alex Mighten took advantage of a mix-up in The Saints' defence and drilled the ball beyond Jack Bycroft.
Having been level at the half-time break, Forest couldn't push on in the second half and were eventually beaten by goals from Jake Vokins and Christoph Klarer.
Jimmy Gilligan's side currently sit bottom of Premier League Cup Group E and their next game in the competition takes place at Stoke City on Monday 2nd December (kick-off 7pm).
