Sabri Lamouchi has asked for his side to be more consistent at The City Ground after Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City.
Despite having 32 shots at goal, The Reds only managed to test Cardiff keeper Neil Etheridge on two occasions and Lamouchi expressed his disappointment after the full-time whistle.
He said: “It is a big disappointment because it’s another loss at home, after all the good work we have put in.
“The numbers are clear and we know that we can do more than that. We just need to try and get more shots on target but we created big chances.
“We have taken points in some difficult stadiums and at home we need more consistency and unfortunately tonight we missed too many chances.”
The Reds started the game brightly but fell behind just short of the 15-minute mark after Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was allowed to cut inside before firing beyond Brice Samba.
The Bluebirds could have doubled their lead in the second-half, however Joe Worrall was on hand to clear Junior Hoilett’s goal-bound effort off the line.
Lamouchi also expressed how key moments in the match determined the result, explaining that his side were very unlucky to not get anything from the game.
He said: “In the first 10 minutes we missed two big chances with Sammy and Joao and they score with their only shot of the first half.
“It was a big block from Joe Worrall but ultimately we tried a lot, we missed and were not clever. Unfortunately it is sometimes like this.
“Sometimes it’s the opposite, we are disappointed because the players showed great commitment and the atmosphere was great from the beginning. But personally, I believe that we were very unlucky to come away with no points.”
