Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates is focused on getting his spot back in the team ahead of the weekend’s trip to Luton Town.
Yates made his return from injury against Hull City and is determined to fight for his spot ahead of the visit to Kenilworth Road.
He said: “I am not looking too far ahead, I am just trying to fight for that shirt again and keep improving. I think that there is more to come from me; I have to take it day by day, keep training harder and harder and keep learning from the experienced pros in the team.
“If I do get a chance, I have to take it with both hands and try and keep hold of the shirt. I just need to show my passion, desire and hopefully we can win games.”
Yates has played at Luton’s ground previously in his career and knows that I can be an intimidating place to play, but he knows that if The Reds can get over that then their quality can shine through.
He said: “I’ve been to Luton before and it is a tight ground, the fans are on top of you and we will have to try and settle them down first being away from home. Hopefully our qualities will then shine through and we can win the game.
“Their results have been indifferent so far but they can play quite open and expansive football. They are better at home than away but we have to go there, stamp our authority on the game and hopefully our qualities will shine through.”
