Arvin Appiah is looking to build on his first season in the Nottingham Forest first team and help The Reds push on in 2019-20.
The academy graduate made his breakthrough in this campaign, scoring on his debut against Burton Albion, and he wants to continue to work hard and make even more appearances next term.
He said: “For my first season with the first team, I think it has gone well, making my debut, scoring on my debut and getting a few appearances towards the end of the season.
“I just want to thank the manager and the academy staff for their hard work because without them it wouldn’t have been possible. I just have to keep working hard when the season starts to get as many appearances as I can, I can’t wait.
“It is good to have rest, get your head away from football and then in pre-season you have got to be focused so I can try and catch the manager’s eye.
“We have all got to work hard as a collective, push each other to the maximum and anything is possible.”
Appiah is set to join up with the England Under 18s squad this week as they travel to Slovakia for an eight-team tournament, with the forward keen to make an impression on the international stage.
He said: “It is the last tournament for the Under 18s’ season so I am privileged to have been selected again and to put on the Three Lions’ shirt.
“We want to go there and win the tournament. It would be nice to get a few goals and come back with the trophy.
“Every time I put that shirt on, I feel humbled and blessed to be wearing the Three Lions because I have played from the Under 15s to the Under 16s, 17s, 18s and 19s and it is a good feeling putting on that shirt.”
