A positive night’s work

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi was pleased with the way his side played in the 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace last night.

Albert Adomah’s first-half strike was enough for Forest to pick up the victory in a much-improved performance against the Premier League outfit.

Speaking after the game, Lamouchi said: “The performance was much better than the last one, that’s for sure, and it is always good to start with a victory and a good performance.

“The game, it was not bad from our side and of course, to win, it gives us more confidence. But we have a lot of things to do and we will do it step by step.

“It is important to see the improvement from the last game. We have travelled a lot, we have played a lot and what I saw tonight was very positive. We didn’t make the same mistakes as in the last game and the players are trying to respect what we have been doing in training.”

Lamouchi had been to The City Ground before in his playing career but it was his first experience as Forest’s head coach.

“It was great,” he said. “With a full stadium it is an incredible atmosphere. I have this memory and after two weeks I hope it will be the same, with a positive atmosphere and a good performance from the team.”
