Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi is looking forward to coming up against a ‘friend’ in Olympiacos later today.
The two squads met for dinner on Sunday evening ahead of the friendly match at Karaiskakis Stadium and Lamouchi feels the bond between the two clubs is something special.
He said: “Sunday evening we had a dinner together, it was a nice moment but the match will be different because we are playing against a strong team.
“They started on June 10th, so three weeks before us, and we may see the difference because next week they have an important game in the Champions League.
“It will be a good opposition, against a friend and a good team.”
He added: “It is the first experience of that kind of thing for me, to share that moment at dinner. It was nice but we are not here on vacation. The first game for us was positive and we must play the same way tomorrow night but I know it will be tough.
“I am not focused about the result, more about the attitude. I want to see many things and, of course, after the result is important.
“In pre-season, what is more important is the attitude from the players and the team. We must play as a team, we must fight and run all together to do our best.”
The squad have been based at the Olympiacos training centre this week, a facility that Lamouchi believes will only improve his players as the Championship season approaches.
He said: “It has been fantastic, the facilities are perfect for us. The pitch, the hotel, the food – everything is good for us so we are all in the best condition for this pre-season.
“To have these facilities helps you a lot for the season. The players are happy to come here, to stay together, eat and rest here and share some moments to play together here.”
