Match preview: West Brom vs Forest

12 February 2019

Nottingham Forest visit The Hawthorns for the first time since 2010 when they make the trip across the Midlands tonight to face West Brom (kick-off 8pm).

The Reds will be looking to make it back-to-back wins following Saturday's victory against Brentford at The City Ground and build some momentum as they look to close the gap on the top six.

West Brom have been in the play-off chasing pack all season and come into tonight's game on the back of a 1-0 win at Stoke on the weekend.

Team news

Yohan Benalouane and Jack Colback are both available for selection having completed their respective suspensions.

Martin O'Neill has plenty of options to pick from, with Ryan Yates impressing in midfield on his first league start for The Reds and Molla Wague making a telling contribution from the bench on his debut on Saturday.

The opposition view

West Brom manager Darren Moore is expecting a tough test when Nottingham Forest visit on Tuesday night.

He said: "We're playing another good team in this division who are in the top half of the table. The new management team has gone in there and they have an array of talented individual players, and what Martin is doing is bringing them together as a group.

"It will be another good game on Tuesday night at The Hawthorns. We're playing against real stern opposition.

"It's always good to play in front of your home fans. Hopefully they will be in good voice as they have been. I echo the same messages to the supporters; come and be heard. Be in full voice. There's no place like The Hawthorns when it's at full volume.

"We want to win all of our games. Every match we compete in we want to win. It's a culture here at West Brom that we want to win every game.

"I want my players fully at it for every single game and be proud to be pulling on the West Brom jersey. We've seen that this season, we've seen some whole-hearted performances and we expect no different on Tuesday night."

One to watch - Dwight Gayle

A prolific scorer at Championship level, Dwight Gayle has been among the goals this season as he has scored 16 times, including the decisive strike in the win against Stoke on Saturday.
