Nottingham Forest’s Joe Lolley said it was an easy decision for him to commit his future to the club having signed a new deal with The Reds.
The winger has penned a new four-and-a-half-year contract at The City Ground and said he was pleased with the faith shown in him by the club.
He said: “I am delighted to be able to repay the faith the club has shown me over the past year and to be able to secure my long-term future here at the club. It is a place that I enjoy playing my football so it was an easy decision for me to be honest.
“The managers who I have worked with and the owners, for them to believe that I deserve this as well means a lot so I am happy.
“Of course, the opportunity to work with the manager is a major factor in me committing my long-term future to the club. His experience and knowledge of the game is something that I think I can benefit from and that will hopefully improve me as a player.”
Lolley signed just over a year ago from Huddersfield Town and said it has been a good 12 months for him on the pitch as he has clocked up 50 appearances in the Garibaldi.
“It has been a good year for me, footballing wise,” he said. “I have stayed fit and over that time I think I have been pretty consistent. Over the past few months I have added more goals and assists to my game and I am pleased with my overall contribution. Hopefully I can do a lot more of that.
“It is everyone’s aim, to get the club back into the Premier League, right from the top down to the players and the staff. That is the aim and the ambition for all of us, individually and collectively as a club and hopefully we can go towards that.”
