Hard work will pay off

Nottingham Forest defender Alex Milosevic believes that the hard work on the training pitch will reap its rewards with results on matchday.

The Swede made his debut last weekend at Birmingham and, as Forest get set to welcome Brentford to The City Ground this weekend, he feels there is still a good chance for The Reds to fight at the top of the Championship.

He said: "For the first game, with not even knowing some of my teammates names, it was okay and for me, I know it will only get better by continuing to train hard.

"Birmingham played a longer game than I expected for my first game but I have seen the players we have got in training and there is a lot of individual quality in the team.

"I think if we continue to work hard like this, as we have been in the week I have been here, then we can only get better."

The centre back is set for his home debut against The Bees and it is an occasion that he is looking forward to, but Milosevic is aware that The Reds must only look at this fixture before focusing on the next.

He said: "If the gaffer chooses me in the 11, I will do everything. To come here and play my first game in front of our supporters, of course there is a difference to doing it away.

"I have been watching videos and I heard before I came here about the fans from other players who have played here and they only have positive things to say.

"We have to take every game step by step. For this group of players we have, when you see in training something you think 'that was great'. With this group, we can do everything.

"But for every club in the world, you can only look at where you are right now and who you are playing in the next game. You have to win that game, then the next game and the next. When you win games, then you will be at the top."
