Nottingham Forest captain Michael Dawson wants The Reds to start taking improving their home form as Sheffield Wednesday get ready to visit The City Ground.
The away form has been stronger for Sabri Lamouchi’s side so far this season and Dawson wants to see more positive results and performances on Trentside.
He said: “If you look at our away form compared to our home form, teams are coming here and fearing us. We have to take advantage of that.
“Tomorrow will be a bit different as Sheffield Wednesday will try and get after us and it will be two teams fighting for the same thing.
“The fans at this place are incredible, they always have been. They turn up week in, week out, it is incredible. It brings expectations, and that is down to what we have done so far this season, and everyone has belief that we can achieve something.
“When we cross that white line, we have to go out there and win. The manager believes in the way he sets us up and Tuesday night was so frustrating because of the way we dominated the game.
“It is frustrating in the last few games, but we score goals and defend as a team and we will keep going with the way we are performing and those results will get better.”
Dawson returned to the side following injury in the draw with Millwall last weekend and knows that the competition for places in the squad can only help the team to improve.
“It is always nice to play,” he said. “Whoever is playing, there is always lads breathing down your neck to play and waiting for an opportunity. We want to win football matches, whoever is playing.
“You’ve got Wozza, who has played every game, then myself, Tobias and Chema and Yohan and Hef as well. Competition is strong and that is what you need, everyone wants to play. Everyone is itching to perform and help the team and the manager has the headaches of having to pick the team to win the football match. If you perform in training, it gets in his mind to pick you and when you are, you try and perform the best you can.”
