Nottingham Forest full back Matty Cash rued his side's missed chances as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City yesterday.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s first-half drive was enough to settle the score and hand The Bluebirds all three points at The City Ground in what proved to be a frustrating afternoon for Forest.
Cash said: “It was very disappointing. I think we created enough chances to score and they took one of their only chances which proved to be the game changer.
"We started the game really well, the first 15 minutes we were on top and we had a few good chances but then after they’d scored, they were really solid at the back and we tried to create something but couldn’t.”
Despite finding themselves in control of the match for large periods, Forest were unable to break down the resilient Cardiff defence, much to the disappointment of Cash who felt that, at times, his side were desperate with some of their chances.
He continued: “That’s what you do when you’re one down, you keep trying to create chances and have shots and tonight it just didn’t pay off. There are a few positives we can take because we played some really good football in the second half and we were on top massively, but overall it was disappointing.”
