Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi reserved praise for his players and his supporters following the 1-1 draw at Leeds United.
Almost 2,000 Reds fans made the trip to Elland Road and they were rewarded with a battling display which delivered a point and Lamouchi was delighted to see his side get up and running in the 2019-20 season.
Speaking after the game, he said: "To take a point away from here against the best team in the league is a good result. However, I was more satisfied with our performance last weekend than I was today but the team deserve huge credit for their menality because they fought back into the game really well.
"A special mention should go to our fans because we could feel them with us throughout the whole game. They gave incredible backing to the team all afternoon and we must focus now because we have a lot of work to do this week to make them happy.
"The team is not quite how I would want at the moment but that is normal. Some players have joined late in pre-season so physically they are not quite ready but we now need to focus on two important games this week against Fleetwood and Birmingham.
"I always ask the players to play with personality and with desire and they did that today. We know we can work on other things but you cannot work if you don't have that desire. Everyone in the squad today, even the guys who came off the bench, worked so hard right until the end."
