Match preview: Sheffield Wednesday vs Forest

9 April 2019

Nottingham Forest are back on the road tonight as they travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Reds will be looking to bounce back following Saturday's defeat against Rotherham and hope to keep themselves in the mix for a play-off spot.

Sheffield Wednesday are also in with a shout of a top six finish and are also smarting following Aston Villa's late win at Hillsborough on the weekend.

Team news

Tendayi Darikwa could be available having sat out Saturdy's game with a slight hamstring injury, while Ryan Yates will also hope to be involved again having been rested for the trip to Rotherham.

From the Forest camp

The opposition view

Wednesday manager Steve Bruce is expecting a tough test against Forest but knows his side are still in with a chance of a top six finish.

He said: "They have got some good players all throughout their squad and in Martin (O'Neill) they have got a big, experienced manager so it will be a tough test.

"We have still got a chance. We have some big games to play. The Championship is totally ludicrous.

"If we had won against Villa, we would have given ourselves a great chance. We did everything we possibly could but it wasn't meant to be."

One to watch - Steven Fletcher

The experienced striker leads the line for Wednesday and is expected to do so once again tonight.
