Match preview: Forest vs Middlesbrough

21 April 2019

Nottingham Forest welcome Middlesbrough to The City Ground in the second match of the Easter weekend tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

The Reds will be looking to pick up their form following four straight defeats, while Middlesbrough arrive on Trentside in resurgent mood having climbed back into the top six with three straight wins of their own.

Team news

The Reds will be without Jack Colback for the rest of the season after the midfielder picked up his 15th booking of the season, ruling him out for the final three games. Yohan Benalouane is also suspended following his red card at Bramall Lane on Friday and Martin O'Neill has hinted that he will make further changes.

The opposition view

Boro boss Tony Pulis was pleased as his side came out with all three points against Stoke City on Good Friday.

"We've played a lot better in the games we haven't picked up any points in than we did today, but what we did today, with the group of players we've got left, we really worked hard and they really ground it out and I'm very pleased for them," he said after the game.

"But they (Stoke City) had one shot on target and I'm really pleased with the group.

"When you ask players to play out of position and do what they did today and keep at it was fabulous."

One to watch - Britt Assombalonga

Good Friday's match winner and Boro's top scorer this season, Britt Assombalonga needs little introduction to Forest fans as he returns to his former club.

Forest wins - 28
Middlesbrough wins - 24

Last time out - Middlesbrough 0-2 Forest (Saturday 6th October, 2018 - Sky Bet Championship)
