Jack Robinson said Nottingham Forest proved the standard they can play at with the draw at Swansea yesterday.
The Reds dominated the game at the Liberty Stadium and should have taken all three points, but the full back believes the performance can provide a platform to build on.
Speaking after the game, he said: "It was a good point, a well fought out game. Swansea played well but we showed what we can do this season.
"We played well at times, we defended well and attacked well but we weren't that clinical today. If we take that into other games, how we played today, then we will definitely do well this season.
"We were solid; I felt that we were solid in the back four. I don't think they had many chances at all and it is just about taking those opportunities. We didn't today and have wasted the three points but we will take the point."
Robinson added that the work done on the training ground during the international break paid off as The Reds started on the front foot.
He said: "Last week with the international break we had time to work on things and we have sat back a few times this season. Today we went on the front foot and pressed them and I think it worked well. We put them under pressure and it worked to our advantage. We had chances and we just couldn't finish them off today.
"We knew what we needed to do and we knew that we had to step on the front foot a bit more as today showed. I hope the fans were happy with the point, we obviously wanted all three but I think we will get more points this season if we play like that."
