Fans’ energy can drive us on

7 November 2018

Joao Carvalho believes that the energy provided by the Nottingham Forest fans can help bring another three points on Saturday against Stoke City.

The Reds ground out a 1-0 win against Sheffield United in front of a packed City Ground last weekend, and the Portuguese midfielder hopes for similar backing again on Trentside when The Potters visit.

He said: "The atmosphere at The City Ground is always unbelievable. The supporters always help the team with their contagious energy. On Saturday, the fans won the three points with us, like they always do.

"This Saturday they will be important again, like they always are. The team needs the support from the fans in every game. It's very important to feel the affection from the people. When we start feeling weakened the support makes the difference.

"We expect a difficult game against a team we already know from the Carabao Cup, where they showed their skills and weaknesses. I'm sure that it will be a great game and I wish that we improve our performance and get three more points."

Joao has been speaking exclusively to Forest Review and you can hear more from him in Saturday's edition of the matchday programme.
