Claudio Yacob felt that the victory over Sheffield United can only help Nottingham Forest grow stronger as a team for the rest of the season.
Lewis Grabban scored a second-half winner to seal the points in Yacob's debut for the club as The Reds climbed into the top six.
Speaking after the game, Yacob said: "We knew that they were a very good team with very good players and that it was a tough game. But we do what we do; we win the game and we knew that if we won the game we would feel stronger than the last week.
"It was tight but that is the game. It was my first game in this league but I couldn't see a big difference to the Premier League. Hopefully I can continue playing.
"I prefer to not look at the table now, it is too soon and there is a long way to go. Every weekend the table changes so the most important thing for me is to get the team stronger every day and have a competitive team.
"We know that we have good players but if you don't play as a team it will be nothing."
The match at The City Ground was Yacob's first since the end of last season and the Argentinian is eager to keep working hard to cement his place in the side.
He said: "I enjoyed it a lot because we won the game. My last game was with West Brom in April or May, a long time ago, and I was waiting for the opportunity. I have been working very hard and I believe in myself so I think I did well.
"With a few more games I will feel more confident and I know that I didn't perform at 100 per cent because it was my first game since April, but I hope that in the next game I can feel better."
