Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka says the reaction from the players has been good as The Reds look to bounce back against Sheffield United on Saturday.
After a disappointing defeat in midweek against Burton, Karanka hasn’t been surprised by the work rate of the players on the training pitch as they prepare to face The Blades at The City Ground.
He said: “The reaction has been very good. This is a fact that they are always very good on the training pitch and it is one of the reasons we are improving and we are better in the league.
“They don’t care about the previous game, only the following one and they go to the pitch always thinking and doing their best.”
Karanka praised the job that Chris Wilder has done at Sheffield United and that he is not surprised to see them at the top of the league.
The Forest manager is expecting a tough encounter but one he is relishing, especially having picked up good results already against other teams at the top end of the table.
“Chris has done a very good job,” he said. “He got them promoted two seasons ago and last season was good for them. This season, they are again at the top which means that it is not a coincidence.
“It makes me think that the project is the most important thing. They are doing well and some teams may choose to spend money or change the manager every two or three months, but you don’t get anything and teams like Sheffield United trust in the same coach and they are doing really well.
“It will be tough on Saturday. We are playing at home against the top of the table team, they are at the top and have been working together for a while so it will be a good test for us. We played against teams in that position like Leeds and Middlesbrough, and we were at least as good as them if not better.”
