Appiah called up for England Under 17s

Nottingham Forest's Arvin Appiah has been called up to represent England at the upcoming UEFA Under 17s European Championship.

The young forward has impressed for the Forest Under 18s and Under 23s this season, and has been rewarded with a place in Steve Cooper's squad for the tournament to be held on home soil.

The Young Lions kick-off the competition on Friday evening when they face Israel at Chesterfield's Proact Stadium (kick-off 7pm).

And Cooper has selected his 20-man group for the tournament, which is being held at six different venues across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Following Friday's opening game, England face Italy at Walsall at 3pm on Monday 7th May before their final group match against Switzerland takes place at Rotherham United on Thursday 10th May.
