Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka believes his side are making the perfect start to pre-season as they begin at St George’s Park.
The Reds will spend the next three days at the Staffordshire-based national football centre as their work ahead of the 2018-19 season gets underway, and Karanka is keen to get straight into the action and build a togetherness in his squad before the season opener in August.
He said: “I knew before we came here that the facilities are amazing. I was thinking when we finished last season that we wanted to change the team and change the players, and it is good for the group to be together in the first few days at these amazing facilities.
“We have to say thanks to The FA and everybody here as it is really good to start the season in this amazing place.
“Other teams are going to other countries but we decided to be close to Nottingham first of all. It is easy to get here and we are really looking forward to getting started.”
