Nottingham Forest’s newest acquisition Lewis Grabban says that reaching the Premier League should be the club’s sole target for the upcoming campaign.
The striker put pen to paper on a four-year deal at The City Ground and says he can’t wait to join up with his new teammates ahead of the pre-season trip to Spain which begins on Tuesday.
Speaking to iFollow Forest he said: “Yeah I’m really happy to be here and quite relieved as well! As a player I’m always looking to be a threat, work hard for the team and create and score goals.
“I’ve been speaking to the manager quite regularly and I’ve known him for a number of years now. He’s hugely positive and ambitious and I know that he is determined to do well this season.
“The Championship has always been a tough division and it’s vital that we get off to a good start to build some momentum. Promotion is the ultimate aim and I wouldn’t have come here if the club didn’t think that either.”
Grabban has plenty of memories of playing on Trentside from his time with Reading, Norwich and Bournemouth and says he is excited about taking to the pitch in front of The Reds' faithful.
He said: “Whenever I’ve come to The City Ground it has been a tough game! It’s a big pitch and there’s always a good following here so it’ll be nice to be on the other side of that and hopefully we can use that to our advantage this season.
“The fans will be massive this season. It’s important that they help us to put the away teams under pressure at The City Ground and hopefully we’ll see the stadium sold out every week."
